I’ve had this in med-large for just under a year and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s had everything that can possibly exit a dog on it at one time or another. Food and bones and “yard-prizes” have found their way onto and under it, and after a quick painless washing it’s none the worse for the wear. My dogs are constantly jostling between this and another older bed in a ‘ya move ya lose’ game. Is it chew proof? Hell no! Nothings gonna stop a chewing dog from destroying ANY bed. But if you can keep your dog from eating it…it’s the best bed out there.I've had big dogs for 50 years & never found a dog bed worth buying. I always cobbled together bedding & sewed covers myself. I thought my aging newfie deserved giving this bed a try. She loves it & so do I. It's nice to have the waterproof cover & extra cover as a bonus. We'll be using the bed both in a camper & outside on the ground, so the cotton canvas will be great for that. Read the washing instructions. Not so common / common sense tells you it's best to wash cotton canvas in COLD water. I plan to air dry.I bought the XXL, just know you'll think "this will cover will never fit", but relax, you can do it, it fits like a glove. Air it out first, put on a cover, it's ready for you & your dog's nap time.I've purchased a number of dog bed's for my German Shepherd's crate and he now is in one 4 feet long x30", this fits it perfectly. The Canvas case has a heavy duty zipper and the fit is really great for the cushion, it's not too tight. Also it brilliantly comes with 2 zippered pillow cases which are zippered so they stay on, and it will make cleaning this bed so easy now with a second case to put on it while one is in the wash. HE LOVES IT !!! HE Is now 100 pounds and needs a good cushion and he's out cold on it now ...snoozing away. GET THIS BED. Next to the roborock I have to vacuum every day this is the best thing I ever got on Amazon. 10 stars if I could. Thank you for really thinking about how to make a great dog bed. It's great quality, good design, and my dog is very happy.I’m a veterinarian with 6 big dogs. My dogs destroy most beds in a few days. I’ve had 6 of these beds over the last few years and they last over a year which is amazing and no other dog bed can compare. Totally worth the money. I recommend these all the time. Very durable, super comfortable especially for geriatric dogs.I wish they had one of these for my king size bed. The gel infused foam is top notch. I know a lot about different kinds of foam from my professional life and I can say this cannot be beat for what it is. It is SO COMFORTABLE!! It took several hours to fully expand, which shows how dense the foam cells are. It is very firm but pillow soft at the same time. We find our 80lbs rough collie stretched out on his back in his crate every morning. We needed a mattress that filled the entire crate. (His crate is a standard size, 48" x 32.5") If my dog feels a seam or sees a tag, he'll chew at it until he rips into the whole thing. So we put the waterproof cover on and the top cover on. It reaches all the way to the edges with no tags or seams or zippers available for him to pick at. There's also no space around the edge for him to nose under and pull up. My only complaint is the color of the cover is black and shows every hair that he sheds. But I'm ok with that. The point that I knew we made a good purchase was when I saw him lay on it and saw how his elbows really dug into the mattress. It showed me how much pressure was on his elbows when he was laying in the crate. This is firm enough that he can step in it without it puffing out everywhere but it's supportive and soft enough for him to be comfortable all night long. I recently bought a mattress topper for a bed, which was influenced by how comfortable this one is, and the quality of that foam didn't come anywhere near this one.This is a really solid product and you will know this the minute you unbox it. The bed comes in four separate pieces: The memory foam and three separate covers. Assembly is fairly easy, involving a slight bit of stuffing of the foam into the various covers. If you fold the foam into a U-shape before inserting it into each cover, as indicated by the accompanying instructions, you shouldn’t have any issues. The memory foam that is at the heart of the bed seems to be of a very high quality. It’s certainly as good as or better than than the innards of any other dog bed I have ever owned. It does seem a little rigid when you first unwrap it, but don’t be put off by this. It tends to soften up a bit after a week or so of use, although it remains firm and easily supports the weight of even the largest of dogs (I have three Huskies). The three zippered covers that come with the bed are also of very good quality. The first nylon, dark brown cover slips over the memory foam directly and acts as a waterproof liner. The second, canvas-like, black cover slips over the brown liner, protecting the bed and adding durability. The third, two-toned brown cover is a nice addition that adds a velvet-like, soft top to increase comfort and a non skid bottom so that the bed can be used on hardwood or tile floors. If needed, you can remove each of the zippered covers for maintenance. Barring an serious accident, you will probably never need to remove anything other than the third cover for cleaning. The proof of my satisfaction is that I just purchased my second bed after having owned one for several months and seeing that it met with my dogs approval. There might be some dogs that don’t like this bed, but based on my experience, you are getting a high quality, well thought out product that will provide your dogs with both support and comfort.Item didn’t last a day.
