I hope this doesn't offend the dog in the photo, but I use this to provide a little warmth for my chickens. I built a little platform to cover it, so it is not subjected to chicken "excreta". It has been working reliably for weeks now. Today it is below freezing and the snow is an inch or two deep... the chickens are safely in their little house with plenty of food, this heating pad, a heat lamp and a heated water dispenser. I'm sure it's not easy being a chicken, especially in cold and snowy weather, but it must be nice to have a built-in down comforter. :)
